i have a ef si hatch. and my battery light keeps staying on, i put a new battery in and had the alternator tested at kragen auto and they said it was fine. i checked my grounds from the battery cables. anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? thanks

 

test with another working alternator since the one you have might be getting weak internally...same thing happened to me even after i got the ok from autozone...!!!

 

ok, will do, good thing i have another one laying around. but if its not the alternator then what else could it be?

 

the alternator belt might be loose...try to re-tighten it before taking out your current alternator and if it still stays on then try swapping alternators

 

its pretty snug on there, im sure its tightened. i hope its just a easy fix like changing the alternator

 

check the grounds off the engine.
sounds wierd but mine fixed itself after that. then the alt. blew...

 

ouch, i hope mine doesn't blow. ya i added a second ground. is it a good or bad idea?

 

thats a good idea, i relocated my battery and it didnt want to start, so i added another ground and that fixed the problem.
