Default Climate Control Temp Selector broken!!!

My temperature selector broke on the inside. The metal piece that the **** slides onto broke and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. Is it possible to buy a new one? The reason why it broke was because it was hard to turn it. I had to use alot of force and it finally broke. I should prolly figure out why it wont turn easier.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You can buy them from ebay, but expect to pay hundreds.

just for that little metal piece? I already replaced the climate control unit but when I pulled it out, the temp selector stayed in and didn't look like it was easy to replace.

You could always just replace the climate control with either one from an accord or a 92-95 civic like I did. The Crx ones are notorious for breaking, and the writeups are all over the internet. It's a REALLY easy swap.

Are we talking about the same thing here? You replaced the climate control unit, but the thing you broke stayed?

Yea its the metal piece that goes into the **** that controls whether its hot or cold. The metal piece is in an assembly that is different from the Climate control.

Are you talking about the part that is held on with 2 screws? If so, you may be able to get one from someone who has replaced their climate control. When I swapped mine, I left that piece in the car by unscrewing that part so I wouldn't have to mess with the cables, so I have that part left over, but I don't know if it is in working order. You will need to figure out why yours was in a bind though, either the cables are frozen up, or the water valve next to the fuel filter.
