I'm planning on buying a 2001 Accord 6 disc changer and installing it into my 1993 Integra GS. Right now I have a 1997-2001 Prelude AM/FM CD deck installed. I wired the Prelude deck to an adapter harness to plug and play into my car's stock harness, just like an aftermarket deck. I just don't have the Prelude's stock amp or amp harness installed. Is it possible to do the same with the Accord's 6 Disc changer deck? Will I have to do anything different? Has anyone done this or attempted to this? I've searched, but couldn't find anything about installing the new 6 disc changer into an older car.
Does it still use the DIN plug to interface with the radio? It's round with a little indentation on one side of the socket.
ummm not so much what you are doing but i installed a indash cd changer from i belive a crv or pilot in a customers 95 civic we removed the ac control because thats what he wanted
fiberglassed up a bezel the key way he brought us the harness that plugs into the rear of the radio and i hard wired it up ... so it can be done

Accord changer is double-din... As long as the Integra has a double-din opening, it will work. Physically bolting the changer into the dash might be a challenge, but I'm sure it can be done.
Sounds like you've already got the wiring covered, so this should work.

I bought the Accord deck from the guy last night. Fortunately the Prelude's stereo harness (I already had) fit into the Accord deck. I haven't had a chance to work on it yet. I still have to find the wiring diagram from the Accord's stereo harness and make sure it matches up to my car's original stereo harness. I don't intend on hard wiring it though. Hopefully the Accord's harness lines up the same way as the Prelude's. If not, I'll just have to move some wires around and make it work with the adapter I have for the Prelude deck. After all the wiring's done, I'll just make a bracket to have the deck mounted properly. Thanks for any info and input you guys had. I can post up some pics later if you guys are interested. Thanks again.
Here's a pic of how the Prelude deck looks in it now . . .

SWEET! I found the wire color codes on the interwebz. It looks to be exactly the same as the Prelude's, minus 2 wires with different colors but same pin locations on the plug. It should be plug and play . . . Hopefully. I can't wait to get home now and try it out. I hate working on the weekends.
