Default CEL stays lit during check...already checked old posts

First of all, why am I only allowed 5 posts when I have been a member since April '07?? Under my name it says last time i visited was 4-31-1969 lol...wtf. I wasnt born until '76. Anyway. I have a 94 Teg GSR, no mods. Every once in a while, after the car is warmed up, when I come to a stop (light,or sign) the engine will start to...bub,bub,bub,bub...then CEL will come on and then the car will go back to idling just fine, and CEL will stay on until I shut the car off and restart, then CEL goes away. Update to today. I decided to check my ECU for codes, and now, when I jump out the plug, the CEL stays on, no blinking, does not even do a system check or system ok. I double and triple checked the procedure with the stealership and checked out the FAQ post about how to check ECU's. I checked all fuses and all are ok. Is it highly likely that I have a bad ECU?? BYW, car still starts and seems to run just fine.

when you have the scs connector jumped and the cel stays illuminated you have no codes.

on an obd1 vehicle everytime you cycle the key you are resetting your codes.

you need to leave the scs connector jumped and drive it until the car gives you the problem at that time the code will flash and you will have a code to start diagnosing from.
