Heres my build c5 bottom With JDM ITR pistons and Head was Raced PnP from Steve At cccylinderheads, heres the question can I get away with using skunk2 stg2 tuner cams with my stock retainers? I have the tuner springs and I think the retainers might bottom out on the valve seal on the Vtec lobe...?oh yah its a DD ITR thats why

Ask Steve, I'm sure he could tell you one way or the other.

If anything the S2 retainers will give you more clearance than the OEM steel ones will. The spring should bind before it hits the seal. What cams are you running, and how are you coming up with this idea that its going to bottom out?

My friend drag and track raced his stock (bone stock except for valve springs and cams and boltons) B16 with Skunk Tuner 3 cams and Rocket SL springs (for ~2 years). NO problem at all until he revved more then the usual 9500... and then finally at @10500 one stock retainer broke.

if your worried about your retainers smacking your valve seal have a machine shop set the guide a couple thousands down farther

Whats your real name? What package did you get? If you got the RACE PACKAGE, that means I put SUPERTECH guides in the head, and they sit about .050-.070 lower than factory guides anyway.

Ok I remember. I wont post your name.

Yeah, since we put in stock guides, you will have retainer to seal clearance issues when using s2s2's with stock retainers.
