OEM Mugen Shifter assembly


My buddy has a S2 on his FA5 and it feels pretty good. solid shifting, short throw, easy gear placement, etc.

Has anyone felt the difference between the Mugen one and brand-name short shifters?
I'm sorry if this has already been asked/covered.

 

i believe the mugen one has a shortened shifter stalk.

 

Ok, so it's not really a short throw shifter; just a short (as in Height) shifter?

Somebody knows for sure...

 

is the shifter in the mugen SI different from the regular SI??

 

the mugen does offer shorter throws in all gears as opposed to ss which tend to leave a more shorter throws in gears 2-4-6 than 1-3-5

 

The mugen ss listed in that link is cheaper than what I've come across.

 

Some people swear by the Mugen SS assembly as the mother of all short shifters because it eliminates the "notchy" feeling found in our transmission.

My thoughts? Eh... My Comptech SS w/ Amsoil TMF works just fine... Thanks! If I spent that much money for a SS (even if it's the complete assembly), I better hope it cures cancer too.

 

All I know is I love my Mugen SS.
