I'm looking at all original one owner 88 crx si with about 125K miles. The car has some rust spots, body is rough, interior needs heavy cleaning. Owner looks like she never washed it/cleaned it. What is this car worth?
If I get it, what do I need to check. Is there an expert I can take it to for pre purchase inspection? I'm going to restore it - need a shop in NJ that can do it. I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.

 

You can take it to any reliable shop your aware of in your area. I would check behind the front and rear bumpers for bending. Also check the bumper shocks to see if they are depressed. these would indicate an accident.

Make sure you check all items for functioning. Its all to common to get it home and find out the window wont go up.

Engine oil should be fairly clean and coolant should be green. You can also check brake fluid for cleanliness.

Tires should be usable. Make sure when test driving it that you check for noises and vibrations as these can suggest a bent, broken, or worn out part.
