Buying a JDM k20a (ITR) swap for my car, few questions.
I own a 05 DC5 with a k20z1. A buddy of mine is buying my complete swap from my car, I'm gonna add some cash to it and order and ITR motor. My question is, I'm ording if from Hmotors, and I'm getting the complete swap.
Do I need anything other than that? Like different mounts or something wierd I dont know about?
Also, what kind of power can be make N/A on the k20A? such as cams, springs, retainers, ITB's k-pro.
I may just supercharge it with K-pro, but I love N/A. Just curious what kind of power I can get like that.
And on a totally different note, would it be better to get the tsx k24a with an itr tranny? What numbers do the tsx put down? I can't find that info, I've heard its like 220hp.

if your taking out a prefectly good motor u better be doin a k24 swap, because honestly putting a type r motor in your car is useless, the z1 already makes that much power, it would be like taking out your motor and putting it back in, no gains what so ever, and the lsd in the trans is only good for circuit, so your idea of swaping an itr motor in there is just (lack of a better term).. dumb. i would never do that swap on a 05+ type s.. ever, so if your gona sell the motor in your car and destroy the value of your vehilce you might as well but a k24 block take your z1 head from your old motor and make a frank, if your friend talked you into doing this then hes an ******* and taking advantage of you.
additionaly i cant tell if your joking or not in your orginal post, i hope you are and in which case thats a perty funny joke, u had me goin
WTF? it's not a joke. but he fell through anyway, so nvm. LOL and how could I sell him the motor and then take the head off it? idiot.
Sell your car you don't deserve it
reading owns you. It plainly says, "k24 block take your z1 head from your old motor and make a frank". I don't deserve my car cause I want a real ITR motor? WTF? what has honda-tech gone to?

man i don't know why your doing that don't even waste your money on the type-r the z1's have about the same power instead of waisting your money on the motor do what the girl on the top of the thread said use it to buy a k24a2 or k24a block upgrade the pistons and rods and you will probably have spent less money than doing all this and you will be alot faster more torque for your honda to
tee hee, the real itr motor you want is not an improvement on your car, its not a dc2/4 where an itr swap was the cool thing to do, if you want that feel and look, buy a red valve cover from jhp or on ebay and grab a black oil dipstick from somewhere online, and now you got the look with out the hassel, you wont have to buy an header for the car, you wont have a jdm speed limiter, and i think you wont have to deal with the stupid 3rd o2 sensor, but your right i am an idiot, ive never even lifted the hood on an rsx.... wait no thats not right because its my job. have a nice day
I've got an JDM K20a in my RSX and to be honest....its alot of hype. The motor was in my car when I purchased it. I mean yea its cool to know I have a JDM ITR motor sitting in there, but I would never have actually purchased the swap myself. My bone stock GSR EG hatch would easily smoke my RSX if I still had the civic. You could easily buy a K20a2 or K24 bottom end and build it for much less than the ridiculous ITR price tag.
Point being, if you get a really good deal on an ITR motor, then yea go for it. If your looking for a motor that will give you a lot of power, then take your time and build one. The difference between a 210hp motor and 220hp motor is minimal at best, and nothing a good gust of wind can't even out.
Good luck on your project
