Will wide wheels ruin my wheels bearings?
I was looking to do a set of steel racing wheels to track with but I wasnt sure what offset to have them made with? I want a wider stance, but nothing that sticks out like hell, I was going to go with 15x8. Offset/back spacing is my concern now, +25 didnt sound to bad to me but someone said that I might have an issue with cooking my wheel bearings? Any Ideas on this?
I wanted low offset but Im not sure what to go with, definitely not 0, some even medium where Its either flush or sticks out a little bit. Im rolling my fenders anyways. Maybe some tire suggestions and sizes as well?
Wheel and Tire Noob.

When you say these are for track use, do you mean road courses, autocross, or drag racing? And how much (if any) track experience do you have? (If you are a beginner, it's going to be a waste of time to do anything special for the track.)
Also note that 15x8 is going to be too wide for any tires smaller than 225/45-15, and again, you're probably not going to want to use that size if you're a beginner.
If you've got a fair amount of track experience, that's a different story - but it's not clear whether or not you do.
(The short answer to your question is that wide wheels aren't going to ruin your wheel bearings, but track use can put a lot of stress on the wheel bearings and they may eventually need replacing as a result. Same thing with ball joints, as well as the non-suspension parts more commonly thought of as "consumables" - brake pads, rotors, tires, etc.)

Autocross mainly, I've had some experience with local events.
That tire size is just fine for me, I think Im going with a 5 inch backspacing on my wheels.
