about a week ago my brake light started coming on while i was driving, i could'nt figure it out and now when i start driving both my brake light and abs light come on even the abs is working and the brake lever is all the way down. anyone know where i might start looking to see if i cant get this issue resolved?

 

My brake light did the same thing. I noticed it only came on at night, and it would go off on its own, after driving for 15-20 minutes. I don't know why that happened but it also stopped happening like 5 months ago. I didn't change anything or attempt to fix it.

About the ABS light, I would check the code. See the FAQ section for instructions on checking the code.

 

what chassis is this happening on? cause it happens to my da as well. i'm assuming you guys are talking about the hand brake light in the cluster right? when i drive at night it will come on randomly or flicker, sometimes it dims on its own. any suggestions?

 

the problem is happening on my 97 dc-2 and my brake light comes on as soon as i start driving and stays on until i restart the car.

 

the most common problem with the brake light is that often the fluid level gets low and when you turn and drive it trips the brake light to come on.

 

for the abs light, check to make sure the connector (metric 10 bolt) at the battery terminal are tightened properly. mine was loose and the abs light would come on and go off randomly due to the bolt being loose
