Engine stalls on Decelleration - any ideas?
Hi all -
I know there are a number of things that can cause the following problem, but what I am trying to determine is if any of the possible causes are frequent/known issues on these cars.
When starting the "cold" car, it refuses to idle, unless I keep my foot on the gas. Even after driving for a while, I find that I must put the car in neutral & bring the rpms up a bit, otherwise the car will stall on decelleration also. Some days, once the car is warmed up sufficiently (been driven for an hour or more) it will still continue to stall on decelleration. Car is always an easy restart after it stalls.
The car also seems to be getting crappy gas milage - ie: under 25mpg
The car in question was a recent purchase ... 1987 CRX W/ CARB & automatic transmission ... ironically, it did pass emissions in NV.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
