Default Injen AFR Vs. Fujita AFR

My first concern is AFR. It will be quite some time before I can afford a Hondata s300 and have my FA5 dyno tuned. With that being said I would like my AFR to remain near stock with a short ram intake.

Now Injen claims a near unaffected AFR according to their dyno charts, but the Fujita seems to gain a tiny lil' bit more power and torque based on their charts. At the same time Fujita doesn't say anything about the effect on the AFR.

As it stands now I would like to purchase the Fujita short ram, but whats it gonna do to my AFR?

While I can't say exactly how the Fujita intake affects Air/Fuel ratio....I CAN say that it keeps it within factory limits otherwise the car would throw a CEL. I've had my Fujita for well over a year now and have never thrown a CEL for a lean or rich mixture.

Just remember to disconnect the battery prior to install. And let the car idle for about 10-15 minutes after installing the intake and re-connecting the battery.

Hmm lol I didn't either, sorry I hadn't even looked into ecu's yet, just assumed. Its weird I'm so used to B-series, I'm starting to get used to the idea of owning a K engine.

Thanks RICO,

While Im at it ima thread jack my own thread!!! Two things,

1) Opinions on this Skunk2 "mega power" header, so far its what I have decided to purchase.
2) Opinions on Apex'i WS2 catback exhasut, I found a few crappy youtube videos so is it relatively quite with normal driving and a nice tone in vtec? Its looks somewhat cop proof to...

WS2 is keeps the noise down in normal driving and has a nice deep pitch in vtec. the header is a good choice.

maybe AFR isnt an issue with the Fujita. But what about heat soak? That is the one thing i couldn't help but think about when i installed my Fujita.

I don't like how the upper radiator hose comes in contact with the intake. Or how far back in the bay the filter set. Anyone have a way to correct this? Samco or Gates radiator hoses maybe?

heatsoak! that's why i always just retain the stock intake personally, since teh rubber tubing from factory protects better then a aluminum aftermarket pipe, and in the case of the k20, keeping the intake temps down is important, the way honda ran the hose's was sorta a temp killer, lol.
