Auto to manual conversion legality
For some it may seem like a no brainer, but going thru all the specifics in the rules it was unclear to me if the "conversions" statement in stock class SCCA solo rules allowed an auto-5sp swap.
I e-mailed a SCCA solo-2 tech and he replied that it IS allowed, but must be complete including any changes to interior that would have been different between the 2 cars.
These changes obviously don't apply if you are in a class where you can run alternate guages, strip interior, etc.
So the bottom line is, if you are looking to compete and can only find/afford an automatic version of the car you need and can round up the parts, you can convert and legally compete.
