I just went to the track last friday and ran a 14.6@95mph. The only mods since I ran a 15.1 @91mph are the motor mounts and the plug wires so I am happy with the improvement. In a couple weeks I will be doing a boost upgrade from 6psi to 8psi this should put to low 14's to high 13's. Just wanted to post the improvements. Let you know what happens after the boost upgrade.

Hmm.. if you pulled a 14.6 with the JRSC and all those bolt-ons on 6psi, I don't think you'll be seeing 13's with 2 more psi. I'd say more like 14.3ish @ 97mph..

Traction on a jrsc car is a pain. Where do u live? Maybe its the altitude too.

 

Ehh.. *some* may have seen mid 15's in a bone stock Si, but realisticaly and on avg, 15.7-15.9 is a stock Si, mid-low 15's w/ bolt-ons.

Best thing you can do for that Si.. TUNE IT! It's amazing what guys have gotten from JRSC'd Honda's working on Hondata with the Hondata intake mani gasket

 

I have a 99 civic Si and ran 15.4 w/an intake. Everything else was stock. I put on a JRSC, v-afc, and a short ram 3" intake and ran 14.5. Everything else was stock. I added a header, testpipe, and 3"exhaust later but i never ran it. I sold it shortly after because it was still slow and w/the exhaust it was way to loud. I will be putting my custom turbo kit on in two weeks.

What a joke man, sell that stupid charger and get a turbo and with the same amount of boost you'll be in the low 13s, its a waste of your money other wise

 

I dont think you should clown on him for having a JRSC. He has a reason for getting it and we should support him and help him out. Do not critique him for the setup he choose. Congratulations and continue to work on it and keep us to update.

Keep practicing, tune it, get some radials if u dont have em...dont worry you'll hit 13's...dont listen to fools trying to diss ur setup..

 

Hey the only reason that my SI has a JRSC on it is because it was already on the car when I bought it. I paid $14,000 for the car with the JRSC on it. I wanted a stock one but they were like $16,000-$17,000 at the time I was looking and plus they had more miles on them. Mine only had 29,000 miles on it when the others had 50,000-60,000 on them so that is the reason I have the JRSC. It is not yours so why diss somebody elses setup. Now that this is said, I plan on running this setup until I blow the motor because I am planning on building a B18C5 turbo setup. Thanks to the people how gave me support. I wouldn't diss anyone elses choice of parts the put on their car so I don't appreciate the people who dissed mine. Back to the original post I am not running any drag radials that time is on street tires. Maybe I'll see some of yall at NOPI next month, sorry I don't have any pics of my car posted yet but as soon as I can I will get some on here. Everyone feel to post your times here, and thanks again for the feedback. One more thing I plan on adding an Apexi V-AFC and a LSD around the same time as the boost upgrade.

Wow, time for some of these "haters" (what a gay word) to learn about jrsc, if a jrsc is not tuned its kinda crappy, i know. But if you get it tuned i think youll be suprized, although a turbo is better. What sc do they use for SI's? M45 or the M62?

 

I believe it is the M62.

 

not to be a "hater" (i hate that word...) but whats sad is, my Accord went 14.6 at 97mph on street tires...with get this, intake and header. So you definitly need to get tuned badly. I have seen JRSC cars fly...IM "charged99si" on this board, he can help you out, he was going mid 13's with 6 psi i believe..

 

That is an expected time for an untuned JRSC. Once you get it tuned you should see high 13s if you can get traction.

 

Just for reference...i drive a 2000 civic si and i hit at 15.5 at 90mph with only a homemade intake and in 90 degree weather. Oh yea and a shitty 2.39 60ft

 

I wasn't trying to diss your setup, I was just trying to give you some advice that if your really serious about going fast you shouldn't waste your money if somethings not going the right way. I wish someone would have steped in and gave me some words of wisdom. Im just saying that your time of a 14.6 could have been ran with just intake,header, exhaust and I have friends who have done it. Your set up you should already be mid low 13s as is, get some tunning and plug away till you get what YOU want out of the car

Congrats on the improvements. Out of curiosity, what were your 60' times? That's the key to a low e.t. I used to have an "untuned" '94 JRSC'd @ 6 psi GS-R (totalled it) that ran a best of 14.0 on 16"ers and 13.685 @ ~100- 101 mph on M/T 20x8x14 slicks with a 2.003 60'. Don't listen to the nay-sayers... you can do it. Knocking roughly 1.5 seconds off your 1/4 mile time is a vast improvement! Just for reference, I've run against a guy in a '99 Si with an intake that pulled pretty consistent 15.8x times and an JRSC'd '99 or '00 Si that ran high 14s.

I knew the previous owner of your car before he sold it to you. Try experimenting with different launch techniques at the dragstrip. I'd also look into a hondata 2B instead of the VAFC. You can even use it later down the road when you go turbo.

 

The Mick I will have to find the time slip to get my 60' time once I find it I will let you know. Racer XI did you help him do any work on the vehicle and if so what? Just trying to find out and thanks to The Mick for the congrats.

 

Well, just for reference sake, I pulled a 14.63 @ 95.01mph in my Civic EX on 6psi of GReddy turbo.. so no you're not going to see tremendous power from the JRSC, especially at 6psi. But like I said, get the bastard tuned and slap some DR's on there, you should see very low 14's at the least

I hope that works. Its the timeslip from my si. I had a home made intake, No muffler on the stock exaust, and remove the PS belt. 14.9@92.5

I recently ran again after many mods. I/H/E, test pipe, cams, cam gears, better ecu and a vafc, quaife lsd, a gsr tranny with a jdm FD, and a few more lil things.
15.0@94.

Now does this make my car slower? hell no. When i ran 14.9 it 44 degrees. Literally.
This time was over 100 degrees. I say again, 100 degrees. and i still had a higher trap speed.

That is another reason my car is not running great, I live in Alabama. The temps at night are in the high 80's and the humidity is about 80-90 percent so hopefully when the temps are lower I will see better times.
