I am planning to do a rebuild on my 94 GSR, but my builder said he needs to take my motor apart to see the colors so that he can order my bearings, which his statement makes sense. but i was thinking i could call Acura and ask them what colors i needed and they said the same thing. so do all GSR have the same rod and main bearings have the same color codes if so can anyone shed me the hassle of me taking my DD apart just so i can check the colors. P.s he said all bearings were about $380?

 

If I remember corretcly, each block has what color bearings it needs stamped on the underside of the block, where the oil pan bolts up. $380 seems a little high. Does this include some kind of labor to replace them??

crank has letters and so does the BOTTOM of the block. match them up in the service manual the dealer should have and it will give you the colors or "bearing thickness'es" you need.

and i know that word isnt real but you know what i mean

 

what about for the rod bearings?

 

does a c5 have the same color bearings?

Every motor is different there is NO universal codes to use! You HAVE TO pull it apart and see..
