only put 2 quts in when changing tranny fluid. Am I screwed?
Mods - just noticed typo in the title - can you change it to "qts" or "quarts" whichever you prefer?
Should I buy another $8 bottle of tranny fluid to top it off or is 2 quarts all I need? I know the capacity is listed at 2.3 or so. Tranny feels ok for now.

I had half a quart of the older honda mtf in my garage but didn't want to mix it. I'm gonna stop by the dealer on my way home, I hate worrying about this.
On the plus side it had been about 30k since I changed it and what came out of my transmission looked fresh. It's already shifting much better though, thanks to the next generation of honda mtf.
Just curious if anyone has any reasons why yes or no this is an issue?

What is wrong with the older quart? How old? It is probably the same stuff.
You need to fill it, otherwise you cannot verify the fluid level and could be really low.

I drained it with the car on ramps and filled it from the VSS so I know that the entire two quarts are in there. I don't use the fill hole on the side because it's a pain in the ***.

If you fill it with the front end of the car raised, you will get a false "full" reading if you gauge it being full by when it starts spilling out of the fill hole. The car has to be level for that to work correctly.
Or you could just measure out 2.3 quarts, but I personally prefer to get it exactly right by filling through the VSS hole while the car is level until the fluid spills out the fill hole on the end of the case.
