Default b16a help

hey fellas i am pulling out my b16a (hydrolocked do to mugen hg failure) and im having some issues.

1) who here runs a b16a with ac? did u remove the whole thing while swapping it out then replace it or leave it in... im seriously about to yank it.

2) im converted to obd-1. the previous owner states the block is a b16a sir2. will the j1 trans bolt to the sir2? i was told something about the splines on the output shaft being different. i think this maybe just a clutch difference. can you use older clutch assembly and newer flywheel? im now running a toda. ( bought with the car )

your j1 trans will bolt onto your b16. As for yanking out the ac, it would be better and easier to swap in another engine with it off. The less stuff that you take off the motor like wire harness, alternator and etc... The easier the engine will come out.

I left mine in while swapping. I just cable tied the compressor out of the way towards the front of the car. I swapped engines in my car at least 5x this way and it was fine.
