Default battle of the noobs!!!

Ok so my buddy has a Eg hatch with a b16a, whale peepee intake, itr header and p30( not sure if the p30 has been messed with). This car is his dd, and he wants to get a bit more power. So here is the catch: he wants to stay all motor but not spend over a grand, he has been talking about doing some stage 2 or3 cams maybe a different header and intake. So this is wat I would do, itr valvetrain itr cams, mild pnp with a itr tb, hytech replica header, and a good tune. It might be a little more than a grand but I thnk it would be good for a dd.
if you have any ideas for this little build let me know. I'm just a noob so don't be to harsh.
Thnks

ditch the b16 block
get a b20b block and it's done deal!!
under 1grand and he doesnt need to replace his header or intake, just need a good tune!!

why would it matter what others think if your not going to listen. are you just looking for justification on your opinion? how would a 70mm throttle body be a good modification when a stock itr throttle body will allow over 200 whp. for 1000 bucks might as well just leave it stock and take your girl friend out to steak and lobster dinner, or boy friend depending on which way he swings. Then put the rest in a stock or mutual fund.

Ok so no big a** throttle body!!! Got it, um I don't think he would do the mutual fund thing.
his boyfriend is allergic to lobster so that's out, what do you think about doing the itr valvetrain?

you will notice that a stiffer valvetrain with the same stock cams will actually take power away. so im not sure why youre saying that, other than it just sounds good when you guys are talking about it in the proverbial dairy queen parking lot.

you cant tune it without a bare minimum socketed obd1 ECU.

pretty much everything you mentioned sounds like garage talk between a couple kids who dont really know what they are talking about.

Maybe I dint make sense or I'm just really bad at this(ok I am really bad at this that's why I'm asking for advise). At the top
Of the post I suggested a itr valvetrain( I thought that would include cams but crap wat do I know), itr cams, mild pnp and a tune no big tb I got hit in the face with that one earlier.
So if this is done it will result In power loss? If so would you mind explaining why. Thnks

if i had a b16 swap with $1000 to play with; b20vtec. by only swapping out the shortblock you'll have a lot more power/torque than doing the itr cams/valvetrain, and maybe some money left over go for dinner and a movie.

The reason why people aren't going into depth to try to explain things to you goes like this:

You (as in YOU for an example) come onto a "build a building forum" and go into the "structural engineering section" and say " hey everybody, my buddy lives in a trailer and has $5000 to spend and wants to make it a house with a foundation and an upstairs". "I just told him to grab a few bricks, some 2x4's a little plywood and he'd more or less get exactly what he wanted".

All the engineers in the forum are completely at a loss to even know where to begin, to explain to you what would be needed to accomplish the goal. It becomes much easier to dumb things down to the original level of question and expectation by saying "It can be done in the movies".

You read the response and are like "what the hell?" which is exactly what the engineers said when they read your question. See how you're both on the same page now?

Did you say "his boyfriend"?
In that case, ditch the build and have him get some Elton John tickets.

well at least your attitude is alright. id rather see someone who is clueless have a good attitude rather than someone who is clueless who automatically goes ghetto and starts typing ebonics.

i would suggest you buy the omniman/mike sarrachino 200whp B16a DVD. its worth it just for Russ Collins. i think he is Sam Elliot's long lost brother. "beef. its what's for dinner."

If Im clueless and want to get help, there is no way in hell anyone here is going to try and help me when I start talking crap that sounds way worse than wat I originaly posted. Like I said I'm a noob and I'm trying to learn all I can,the only way I can do this is by keeping a good attitude and really putting in some effort. I don't get mad when I get told I'm wrong or I'm make no sense, you gotta start somewhere right.
