1992 acura inetegra problems
i have had this car for about three months now, i got it from my sister's boyfriend for $400. I work on cars and i can fix it up, only there is a problem now. I bought it having 192k miles now it has 193k. before, i only had one problem. every once in a while i would get in my car and i would turn the key and it wouldn't start and it would always do this when ever the check engine light is on. one way i solved this was just changing the oil. well it's been doing this more often lately, and it's been getting worse. usuaally i would wait it out and it would take a minute but now it's been taking its time.
The second problem is, yesterday i was taking my friend home, and right when i turned in, the engine started knocking and then the check engine light came on. i'm suprised i made it home. i believe the knocking is timing cause by overheating because i need to change the radiator fluid. or it could be a balance shaft.

If it's still the stock b18a1 Ls motor then there's no need for premium. All it will do is cost you more. Vtec motors need it, but not an Ls motor. How does the car drive now? Have you driven it since the check engine light came on?
nodda, it won't lemme start it at all, i've waited an hour, i'm gonna have to get that relay first. advanced auto doesn't have them, so my dad is going to order it online.

you could always hit up the junkyard. There's plenty of main relays there. As for knocking it was be more cost effectiven to just gt another b18 longblock they go for cheap on craigslist.
you could find a motor at the junkyard, but wouldn't how good the motor is. If there is a auto dismantler near you, you can check there, but a warning tho, then tend to be more costly.
ok today i got the main fuel relay, i put it in. starts like a champ!! but i'm still having a knock. i checked the plugs and the 1st cylnder didnt seem like it was getting any electricity. so i went and got new plugs and wires. changed them, and the knock is still there. any ideas!?!
i also have a 92 integra and it makes a rattling noise when i turn on the car. it seems like its coming form the engine but im not sure. is something wrong with the engine?
have you gotten the valves adjusted or tried cleaning the injectors? i know the injectors get really chattery on LS's does the knock progress under acceleration(get louder and harder)??
does it sound like a slap or knock or is it chattery, if its chatter adjust your valves its easy on a ls if you go to g2ic tips they got a write up on it if your a dyi guy

do you have access to a video camera or a cell camers to record the noise and post up here? it might be a rod knock, it might be time for a new motor id just pick up another ls thats what i did for my db1 the old a1 was loud and chattery didnt wanna wait for it to die so i got a b1 free from friend but you could find one on craigslist cheap 200-500 bucks for motor
