I need help with OBD2 GSR emissions!!!!
I was recently tagged for state ref cuz i had a cone filter on my stock intake arm. I go reff and my emissions are off the charts. i put in a new o2 sensor, bought a used obd2 cat and it still burns super rich. I was also told that the obd2 p72 ecu cant be chipped, but my vtec kicks in @4500......so does any1 know if theres any truth to that? i need to know wat i should change first........is it my ecu or should i jus get a brand new cat? and where can i get a brand new obd2 cat for a good price? any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thanx a milli!

your cat converter is no good for sure! Nox I believe is because the temerature is in the combustion chamber is high. HC is because your running rich, and not enough fuel is getting burned. First change the cat, i would seafoam the car, change oil and run 91 octane before you go back. Seafoam will help with the NOx, oil change will help with HC, and 91 will help it burn throughly.

If you already did all that, and your still failing by thousands of ppm, its your cat converter. To replace it I've been told autozone carry them now, but they cost like $200+. Maybe you can get another cat, but hopefully it would still be good.
Maybe a carsound cat from egay or something? they are cheaper then the auto zone, but they aren't vehicle specific so some welding would most likely be needed
Are the valves adjusted?
Are you burning any oil (valve seals)?
What is your compression in all cylinders?
BTW: OBDII can be chipped. It is rare, difficult, and burn once.

Get another head and have it rebuilt, new valve job, new valve stem seals. Swap the head and install a new timing belt and water pump while you're at it. It's probably due for new ones anyways.
Hes right^^^ your going need to stop that oil burning, if not your going to contiue to fail.
wen it comes to the valve train, im pretty clueless. i jus know wat the main parts look like for ex: cams, rocker arms, retainers, springs and valves.....dont know where the valve guides are or the seals....hahaha
wen i bought the car, it already had a bad head with bent valves so i picked up an 95 gsr head......dude told me it was kool(****ing *******)....but i did the timng belt and oil pump wen i put the 95 head on......guess i got duped!!!
i think thats my best bet, but my court date is next month.....no job either.....dam i gotta go rob somebody....lmao. but thanx to every1 that responded. im jus gonna try a new cat 1st....
