Need help identifying this problem. Lately the guage needle on my 95 civic EX has been bouncing. When driving, the needle will shoot to 100mph than drop to 0. Sometimes it will stay at whatever driving speed I am at and when i slow down, the needle doesn't move. After switching gears, it will shoot down to the proper speed. I checked all grounds and don't see any loose. Alternator is fine. Anyone else have this happen?

 

i had this same problem about 4 months ago... my cluster went bad. i just spwapped in another one and problem fixed.

 

hmm... I've never had a problem with the clusters like this before. Than again these cars are getting old. Guess I'll just have to look around for a new one, thanks..

 

are you throwing a cel?

 

probably a bad speed sensor, check the plug for corrosion if it looks fine go get a speed sensor.
