Do you actually know anything about either of these motors or did you just see people talking about them and now you're curious? Is this your first swap? What do you plan on doing with the car? Is it a grocery getter? Full time race car? What? Do some searching on here and really learn some of the specifications on these motors. Lots of things work with one another from different models, motors, etc. If you knew more about these motors themselves you would not be asking us which swap to get, but instead telling us which one you are getting....Study up.

I think he has ALOT of researching to do. First thing to learn for you is that its spelled VTEC and not VTECH.

VTEC=Variable Valve Timing and Electronic lift Control
VTECH=Its a damn PHONE you can buy at walmart.

VTEC!!

VTECH!!!

The whole VTECH thing gets on my nerves almost as bad as someone saying "What is the best Headers for my Civic" TAKE THE "S" off..our engines only use ONE so therefore in a sentence like my example above it should be made SINGULAR..not PLURAL.

Then again..maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.

Lmao Matt. That's an excellent explanation.

JAVID, I would use the search feature first, or at least research the engine one at a time, notice the differences, and make sure you know how much you're willing to pay.

You must first ask yourself whether or not it's going to be a DD, a track car, or somewhere in between.

He's right. If I had to choose between a B20CordlessPhone or H22, I guess I'd go H22. I can not stand how a VTECH phone sounds. H2B. Now, if you were kicking around doing a B20 with a VTEC head, that's a pretty nice setup, too. I prefer B series but would sure like to have an H2B in my hatch as torque is king.

well ive looked into both engines and all i want to do is to use it as a DD for now but, my friends have a DC5 type r and my other friend actually got the b20 swap on his ej1. Kinda just want something to smash on them or at least keep up. ikno can get JDM B20B 146HP COMPLETE LONGBLOCK WITH 5 SPEED TRANS, STAGE 3 CLUTCH WITH MOUNTS,4-1 INTEGRA TYPE R STYLE HEADER, LINKAGE, AXLES, CHIPPED ECU or a JDM H22A 200HP COMPLETE SWAP WITH 4-2-1 RMF HEADER, MOUNTS, LINKAGE, WITH TUNED ECU for pretty reasonable prices.

Yea, but can you do the work yourself to swap them, or are you gonna pay a shop another 3 grand easily to do the swap for you?

I had to quote this to call attention to your retardation

That being said, I would recommend the b20V for a daily driver so you can have A/C or P/S as an option. The h22 swap would probably be faster though.

It all depends on what you want, not what everyone else says. I went with the h22 in my ek when everyone else said b but the h22 is what i wanted. So decide what you want and go with that.
