Your pushing your stock charging system on your car. I would not run more then that for a full system. Your amps will not make the power needed because there is not enough amps from the alternator.
if you upgrade you battery,
have your alt checked with the amp turned on as loud as you can. if the alt is good then yes but dont be suprised if its not.
im curently runing a sony 1000 watt 2 channle and a 400rms 4 channle, and i 0 problems. with a stock alt and a upgraded battery.

If you mean stock charging system, [alt., batt.] then it will depend on how loud and how long you want to play the system.
I always recommend an alt. upgrade when installing 500W RMS or more, it takes about 75A of current to produce 500W RMS, [about 175A to produce 1200W RMS]. 94

make sure you upgrade your stock ground wires under the hood. upgrading your battery isn't a bad idea, either, but you can wait until the one you have now quits. you're gonna want to use 1/0 gauge wire, too.

That goes out the window when I want to pound my system and it sounds like poo or what it should sound like if it was done right. Or someone with a well built system with half the money and stuff I have beats on me with a well planned system. Who cares if it plays. Does it play right is the question.
