ECU Relocation??
anything's possible
it all depends on how long the harness is....I forget exactly where it comes through the firewall..if its up near the glovebox, it'd probably work...otherwise, not gonna be long enough and it wouldnt be worth it to extend it... how bout putting a little 'window' in your carpet so you can see the codes

i would consider it, but the ECU is chassis grounded and i would not like the idea of running a ground wire between the ECU and the chassis, it may be a different resistance and possibly cause the car to run improperly. the method i would choose would be to cut off one connector at a time, with at least 2 inches of wire left on the connector, in order to properly reattach the wires. also, i would document exactly what color wires went to each pin location before cutting.
there is no way to get exactly the same color wire as the ecu connectors, that is why i would reccomend documenting the colors and locations of the wires before cutting off the connectors.

here's a thought. pop the ECM cover off solder 6-8 feet wires and relocated the LED place it somewhere in the dash...

here's a novel idea: get your car running right so you don't need to check codes 'cause there aren't any!
ECU codes suck. I ran around with my ECU on the floor for a couple months sorting various crap out after my swap, and it's nice having it tucked away now, without ever having the CEL come on.
