D15b2 with a d16y8 head
Hey guys i have a question. I have been looking into the threads and all this and that and i cannot find how to solve my problem.
So you know this is what i have.
92 4dr civic with a D15b2 block with a D16y8 vtech head.(yes i know that there is a generation gap lol)
with an aem adjustable cam gear. y8 intake and probably a d15 dis
Problem: i recently remembered that when i put this motor together i forgot to remove the oil jet (thus vtech wouldnt work) and i want vtech. well around 4k the motor leaps. it opens way the hell up. that was with the oil jet in.
well i removed the oil jet here yesterday and put about 100 miles on the new head gasket and all that and my vtech solenoid is hooked up through a momentary button. and so i decided to see if removing that oil jet will make me be able to have vtech well so i hit the wonderfull button and there is absolutly no change and now that i think about it there is no change between removing the oiljet and keeping it in. and i have absolutly no clue if it is an electrical issue or if it is an mechanical issue.
i have come across 2 things either
1. vtech is not engaging and there is a super agrssive cam in the head.
or
2. something is forcing vtech on or making it so it doesnt shut off.
and i know the solenoid is good because when the car is off and i hit the button i can hear it click on and off.
any ideas?
