what can i do to make my accelerator more responsive?
at some point depending on what gear i am in the accelerator is so sloppy(cant really describe it any better). the only time it feels really responsive is if I am far in the power band of the engine.
thanks in advance

Civic engine is low on torque, so you'll have be at the sweet point where engine match each gear to make the car rock. There is no genearl rule, cause it depends on the gear. If you do feel weak, maybe you are shifting too low. Try bring it up to 3000 rpm and see how you like it, and go from there.

Yea, that's what I was going to say, I adjusted the throttle cable on my civic and I can accelerate faster now. I have an automatic as you already know but it's pretty much the same deal. Before, if I was going a speed of like 50+, I had to push the gas petal hella hard to make the v-tech kick in and pull harder. After I tightened the cable, I can make it do the same without having to mash the petal through the ground. (Also, make sure you don't overtighten it, I did that and my car would go a faster speed when I let off of the brake without even pressing the gas. I don't think that's good for a car
) Hope that helped

When the V-TECH does kick in just do not go out of range or the person will no longer be on the other line. Rule of thumb is, do not go out of your yard.
Baaaaaahaha ROFL!!

what about ignition timing, spark plugs, cap/rotor wear, old plug wires, check all those as well, but throttle cable adjustment is also a good place to look.
