ACT & Fidanza Question
I own a 98 ITR and I put an ACT clutch and Fidanza flywheel on it b/c mine went out on me. They have both been on my car for about 4 months. Recently when I shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd there is a loud squealing noise. It sounds like I am peeling out, but it's coming from the right side of the motor. Is this a common problem? Should I be worried about the noise? It's annoying, but I don't have the money to swap out the clutch and flywheel again. Any help would be appreciated. (btw the already took it to Acura and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it...but they couldn't explain the noise either)
TIA
TIA
My Fidanza/ACT combo has been on for the last 27K miles or more, no problems.
I have heard that often times the pilot or throwout bearings need to be sufficiently greased when installed....though. Ed

i had that problem with a clutchnet clutch (came with drag kit so i used it). used to be able to get it to squeal like you're talking also by riding the clutch in first. i have no idea what it was.
I just had a similar problem. Every time i would press on the clutch pedal I would hear a really bad squealing sound coming from the right side on the car so when i went to work in the morning (i work at acura) one of the tecchnicians pulled the trans and clutch and fount the throwout and pilot bearings to be bad. The warranty Gods replaced my parts and the clutch feels better than when the car was new.
