Yamaha XS400 Special for sale. 9,000 miles!
I'm selling my baby to make room for another toy.
Bulleted details:
-I am the second owner. I have put less than 100 miles on this bike since I bought it.
-It has been dropped. Twice. On the same side, both times in a parking lot. The brake lever got bent, and then when I tried to bend it back it broke. Motion pro lever is in the mail as we speak. There is no other damage from the drop.
-Motion pro clutch lever installed
-Has just received an oil change and new cables.
-Brand new battery. Battery sat while I was at college and electric started the bike first try with no fuss
-Owner replaced one spark plug, so I replaced the other
-Chain and sprockets look great
-Rear tire is great. Front tire is fine but should probably be replaced as it is developing small cracks.
-Brakes are excellent.
-Seat is newish.
-I got 60 mpg with this bike before the plug was replaced
-Has electric start and works great
-Front forks work, but could use a rebuild
-Rear shocks have aftermarket progressive springs. The rear shocks are great and do the trick.
-Bike shifts great
1981 Yamaha XS400 Special
Looking to get $1000 obo for this beauty. Entertaining offers.
Great beginners bike, little brother of the well known and respected XS650.
Light, low seat height, and a good opportunity to be a really fun cafe racer.
