Y8 IM better than Z6?
well i got 2 coupes(ej1,ej2), one has a d16z6 and the other has a jdm d15b. i also have a d16y8 intake manifold laying around in my garage. would the y8 i.m. do anything for either motor? i know they flow better, and i can get another one rather cheap and will if its worth it. any advice?
Y8 is better for lower end torque, Z6 is better for top end. And neither will compare to a DOHC.
The D15B is slightly better than the Z6, but the JDM engine has a more aggressive tune, so that's probably what attributes more to the extra power than the like .2 compression points.

i know this as well...
what i mean is will the y8 help out either car?
Thank you...?
Personally, i think the y8 intake manifold is better than a z6 manifold. Depending on what you are doing with your build it could benifit you. If you were going to turbo the motor and budget was an issue (as it normally is, no one is made of money), I would suggest getting a y8 manifold. Nice runners, big plenum, cheap. On a all motor vehicle its kind of a toss up. Not going to feel a huge difference on the butt dyno, but the y8 might help you get off the line a little quicker and the z6 help you...pass..on the highway.
