Default Do I need a new distributor?

Hey guys I had a question for my 94 gsr. In first and second gear when im just coasting through the neighborhood or looking for a parking spot at work the car kinda jumps back and forth till I push the gas in more than I already am. My friend told me i might need a new distributor is that true? Or is it something else? Hope you guys can help thanks in advance!

How old is the engine? MILES? On my 94 ls i had a problem like that... id b driving and then id shift n then it would jump bak n forth too. I took everything apart after doing diagnostics with it and found that it was my water pump. The A****** who had the engine b4 put too much silicone gasket seal around the edges and it broke off, and stopped the water pump from turning.

Get multimeter and check spark tho, check ignition coil, spark plug wires, and main relay as well. Goodluck.

I had a similar experience, but turned out to be clutch, it just wasnt grabbing, and finally went out, then i changed out the clutch and never had that problem again. If it is the distributor, i dont think it would be the "WHOLE" distributor, but rather than one the components, i.e. control module, ignition, or even cap, or rotor. hope it helps a bit.

bump...i've got a similar problem on my 90 teg...

i was thinkin either the distributor or the injectors being dirty...

did u find out what was causing the jerking while driving?
btw, if one of the components of the dizzy went bad other than the cap or rotor, do u have to replace the whole dizzy?
