Default ecu?

i jst put an engine from a 90 accord ex into my 92 prelude. now do i have to put a ecu from a 90 accord ex in the prelude also? its shooting a code 9 at me and i replace the distributor and it still shoots code 9. distributor is brand new! so what im thinkn is the ecu in the prelude isnt identifying with engine? and also if i get an ecu for 90 accord does it have to b a automatic trans type? cuz thats what i have in the prelude.

Yes I believe you would need the auto ecu because they are different GL

auto vs manual ecu does not matter, unless from what ive heard, only if the TCU and ECU are integrated as one unit, which starts around cars made after 2000 for hondas i believe.

not sure what prelude motor you originally have, but if its the f22ax, use your original prelude ecu, it actually will give you 10hp over the accord ecu.
