been searching for answer, A/C runs with car turned off
So I've been trying to find the answer to this for a few days now. I was looking at a 94 accord LX because I needed a car. Problem is that the A/C will stay on when the car is turned off. The only solution is to disconnect the neg cable to battery when the car is parked. Obviously not an ideal solution but one I can live with. Anyways decided to buy the car today,
could someone more knowledgeable than myself point me in a direction to start? Or do you have a better temp fix like a relay or something I can unplug instead of the negative cable?

Are the fans running with the key off? If they are, most likely the fan timer is bad. Its located on the glove box lower support. Its a little black box. Very common failure on this model.
Glove box lower support, will check it out. Thanks much!
Woah, Hold the phone! The fan timer has nothing to do with the blower. PLEASE explain, exactly what is staying on with the key off?
X2! What exactly is staying on when the car is off? Blower that blows air in the car? Fans on the radiator? We need to know exactly what's staying on.
Let us know.
Ah sorry gents. The situation right now is that the condenser fan does not kick on at all. I assume the fan motor is probably bad (or possibly the sending unit). The radiator fan itself works properly.
My main concern though is when the car is turned off the blower (that blows air inside the car) stays on. I'm assuming there are at least a few relays in the system and one of them is busted. The only way to stop the blower is to actually disconnect the neg cable on the battery.

OK! Thats more like it! Sounds like the blower motor relay is stuck. Its located on the dash fuse box. the uppermost part of it, there are 3 relays in a row. The blower relay is in the middle. Good Luck!

Took out that relay, the blower motor does stop. However the circulation light will stay on, I'm not sure how much of a draw this has on the battery. I assume there is probably a relay behind the dash as well for that?
*edit*
Pulled the blower resistor harness, light was still on for recirculation.
Pulled the under dash fuse for recirculation control motor, heater control panel, etc (Fuse #8 in service manual)
Neither of those turned that light off.

Found the problem. The main AC relay in the engine bay was staying completely open. That thing was BLAZING HOT, banged it around a bit and it started opening/closing properly. Everything should be working again as soon as I get a new relay.
