Honda accord 96 lx idle problem
Hello all, I have a 96 honda accord lx, 2.2 l f22b1 engine with about 175k miles on it. I had an overheating issue due to a broken radiator that ended up causing a warped cylinder head. I did a cylinder head repair job as well as a radiator, hoses, thermostat replacement job that seems to have fixed the overheating issue! I thought i had put everything back in place correctly while putting the engine back together. The first problem i had after the repair job was that the check engine light came on and the engine was idling way too low (around 250 rpm), also it would stall right after i took the foot off the pedal after pushing it to 3-4 kprm. I checked the code and found it to be due to a faulty O2 sensor. I replaced that and the check engine light went away. But the idling problem still exists and i am not sure of how to fix that. From reading up, the following seem to be the likely causes :
1. vacuum leak -- no idea how i would go about finding where the leak is..i think i tightened everything as it was before.
2. idle air adjustment -- i could try to do this but dont know if it would solve the problem if i still have a vacuum leak somewhere.
3. is it possible that the ecu just needs more time to re-learn the new 02 sensor ?? is there a way to refresh it or something?
Any ideas would be really useful!!!
Thanks, shyam.
