Help on Power Windows and Door Locks!
I have a 2000 Civic Hatchback CX. I just got a set of power windows and door locks. My question is, "is it plug and play?". I got everything off a 2000 dx civic. Are their any extra parts that I need to properly install?
everything should plug in i did it too my 93 hatch jsut as long as you got the siring harness that runs along the firewall if yougot it you should of had to take the dash out of the car that you took it out of ...
Whats this , your telling me if i score the door panels and the power window equipment out of a civic ex it would be a plug and play situation once the motor is installed??The wiring where would it go to?
I seen the autoloc power window kit but didnt get it cause i wasnt sure if i could perform the installation>?

A somewhat dimwitted buddy of mine told me that you could pull the doors from a 5th gen coupe and they would direct install on a hatch - IS this possible - or is he BS??
Whoa... ok. Let me clear up all the confusion on this matter as I'm in the middle of this install in my 99 EK. I got basically everything out of a pair of 00 Si doors (power window regulators, door lock solenoids, wiring harnesses). That's pretty much all you need to get your doors ready for it. The only problem is that the door harnesses have no where to plug into as they exit the doors. Any 96-00 civic that didn't come with power windows doesn't have the correct harness behind the dash for the door harnesses to plug into.
I went and pulled the entire dash harness from another wrecked 2000 Si at a local junkyard, including fuse box and pretty much everything for $125. That thing is huge and it was a bitch to pull, and I expect it to be even more difficult to install in my EK (replacing my current non-power window harness).
If you want to ghetto rig it, I'm sure it's possible but don't hook things directly up to power, 'cause you're supposed to use relays so as not to burn the window regulator motors out.
My way will give you OEM functionality and general freshness and cleanness for power windows, locks, mirrors, and tweets.
Good luck!
