Default Getting ready to do some streat racing, what should I do?

Ok, on Friday my team members and some friends are gonna go street racing. And for all you guys against street racing, chill out. Its gonna be at an industrial park at 1 a.m.
My question is what should I do to prep my car for about 4 or 5 runs. I wanna tweak it so I can get the most power out of it. I'm gonna leave 1/4 tank of fuel in and take the spare out, but what else should I do?
My mods are
AEM CAI
JDM 4-1
Carsound Cat
By the way I don't know it it works but, I took out the passenger side bumper lense to expose the AEM filter last time I went. It couldn't hurt right?

how about you grow some grapefruits and say I dont want to be involved with this kind of thing... Thats the best way to get the most power out of your car. By not being dumb and getting to keep it. Seriously dude, think about it. If you are against it, dont go. It only makes you a hipocrit

A little common sense couldn't hurt either. x 1,000,000.

Go to a ******* drag strip if you are so interested in racing someone in a straight line.

When i was 16 i went to the street races quite often. Times have changed in the last 6 years. Its not nearly as good as it used to be. Before people actually lined up in safe places, and didn't pull stupid ****. Now its a totally different crowd. Only a few people there actually race. Most people there just go to hang out, bump their system, and act all hard and ****. Probably looking for future cars to jack. I haven't been back since some of my friends had a gun pulled on them for no reason whatsoever except they won and the guy wouldn't pay up.

Go race at the track like everyone else said. If you really want to race a particular car, just the 2 of you go to some deserted road and do it, or better yet, go to a track. You won't find much sympathy for street racers on these boards.

you should advance your timing to max (make sure to short the plug by the ecu)

Since you dont have cam gears... do this.

Put cy1 at TDC, then loosen the belt.
Take a wrench and turn the intake cam counter clockwise so that it skips 2 teeth on the belt.
Then turn the exhaust cam gear clockwise so that it skips 3 teeth.

This is the same as tuning with cam gears, and pretty close to what everybody ends up with when they adjust their cam gears.

Just make sure to follow procedure on setting timing belt tension.

Then make sure to take off your ac and powersteering belts. that should free up a few more HP.

All of the above should be good for 15HP with your mods.

Good Luck and be safe!

True, very true. Street races now is a competition of who has more bondo, more pastic and the most colors. Then there are the competitions on whos car glows the most, and who's is the loudest. there are rarley any fast cars out there.

Man I don't know where the F*uck you grew up but like i said its with my team members and friends, so I don't think I'll get a gun pulled on me. Its some friendly racing with 15 16 people max and no bets. This is not the Fast and Furious.

MegaTron....Eat a dick, when did I say I was against it. I'm saying I'm going, not I'm thinking about it. Maybe you should put ur glasses on.

Tonyxcom.....thanks man, like I said it just a few people in the middle of no where.

Where's the mods on this one? This guy asks for advice on street racing, which is already a touchy subject here, then he decides to start attacking other members? Very not cool. . .

What should you do?

If you drive an ITR, trade it in for an RSX. That way when you wreck it I'll laugh instead of cry.

Whistledick.
