Default Motor Swap? hmmmmmm

I currently have a 1990 cb7 that is stock with basic bolt ons. I have inquired about a list that says you can make 30hp for less than 500$ but I am wondering is there a motor that I can swap that will not cost me an arm and a leg but will give me more horsepower to play with? I dont race or anything, this is just a personal thing that I am playing with. Thanks! The current motor is f22a1.

JDM F22B DOHC(160hp)(599.99+) if your on a budget but it'll add up quick since you'll need maintenance work, hoses, fluids, etc.

The H23 sounds pretty good. I'll check into it, thanks!

i have an h23a1 dohc motor and tranny sitting here if you'd wanna buy. still strapped down to the pallet it was shipped on. so clean and less than 25,000 miles on it.i'll give you a nice price on motor, tranny, ecu, harness and i even have a brand new stage 2 comp clutch still in the box to go along with it.

Thanks but Ive already started buying parts for my F series. I have h23 IM and I should be getting the a6 cam within the next few weeks. While you're reading this answer me this, I think my f series motor pulls pretty good for just having the basic I/H/E and cat delete. Are f series motors a waste of time and what "real" results can I expect to see from the a6 cam, h23 IM, and the a6 ecu? As always, thanks!

You will see a small difference of course. But in no way is the F22B a waste of time. Iron sleeves are a great for turbo. I have heard of numerous cases of people putting a great amount of boost on completely stock internals. A few cases of 15+ lbs.

if you go the f22b dohc route just make sure you custom make the IM gasket as you may see a vacuum leak on cylinder 1 if you dont(currently doing this swap and at night can see the spark in combustion chamber)...as a result am making a gasket

I actually am running h22 plenum with throttle body on an a6 intake man., pt6 ecu, a6 cam, and an a4 header and A pipe. my motor is an f22a1, and I must say, this upgrade is nice. if you're using the whole h23 intake manifold, you have to use the water pipe from the t stat housing to the water pump because the accords are too short.

How would you describe this upgrade compared to the stock motor jhondayang? Do you have any butterflies and if so what black box from the a6 motor opens them up? Also, do you think a double stack on the intake would net you any gains? I was told to use the a6 ecu, what is the pt6 and is it better? Thanks for all of the help

the pt6 is the a6 ecu. and I
'm not sure of the double stack. heard nothing bad about it. just haven't experienced it that's why.as for comparison over stock motor, I guess it does pull better from low to high. I mean, it's not like a WOW! gain, but more like a KOOL gain. LOL. I hope you get it. my opinion of a wow gain is at least 30 whp. and yes, I do have the secondary butterflies hooked up the black box and it's also from the a6. any will do though. the only reason why I went this route is because I had the parts laying around. I had a f20b long block and h22 intake manifold, ecu etc., but ended up selling everything escept for the manifold. so I went to the junkyard for the a6 parts and only spent about maybe 100 bucks total for everything. the next upgrade if I don't do a swap is lookin into a cam regrind from delta. and possibly some port cleaning, that's it. at least that will only be around 300ish. and the swap I want to do is gonna be around 2000 at least. what are your plans?

My plans are to use the a6 camshaft and ecu along with the h23 IM. I am thinking about trying this double stack to see what will happen. My question to you is what is the black box on the a6 motor that opens up the butterflies and where is it located on that vehicle (what does it look like). Did you say you got 30whp from these basic add ons? I know its a stock motor but with these changes do you think that a tune would be worth it? Also would a stage 2 cam work with a stock f series motor without major mods hmmmmmmmmm..........
