I don't know if this is where I need to go, but is there any way of smoothing scratched glass? Some is bad enough that your finger nail catches on it.... I imagine you can only polish really light surface defects?

If you can catch a nail on them its repacement time don't bother trying to polish them out. My wife own an auto glass shop and never attempts to polish scratches out,99% of the time the distortion it causes is worse than the scratches.

 

Yeah, thats what I thought.... I'll just run that hatch glass until I can find clean glass. as for minor dulness and scuffs, what do you recommend buffing with?

 

any sort of finishing polish with a white pad or grey pad will work good for minor defects/water spots.

if that dont work, then move up to 00000 wool with vinegar/acid(cant remember what the acid is called)
