My Bad Experience with Corsport!
Well to be honest I can't really say it was a bad experience with Corsport, but probably more with Apexi instead. Anyway.......
First of all before I even get started I want someone to tell me the measurements they see on these pictures...and I know they aren't very good quality, but the measurements I know can be made out.....they are obviously in millimeters which is how Apexi measures their intakes and flanges.
Maybe I'm losing my eyesight or something or forgot how to read a ruler so somebody help me out..............
This is an Apexi Universal Power Intake Filter replacement w/ flange I ordered from them. Part number is 500-A025 as the box said.

lol i was their website about five min ago and was about to buy the same intake! i ended up buying it from somewhere else tho. from the looks of it, the rules reads 7.5mm on the flange and 8.5 on the filter. good luck i hope u figure it out.
7.5cm and 8.5cm. Which equals 75mm and 85mm. Apexi's measurements are done in mm on their filters and flanges.
Would anybody disagree with these measurements?

I talked to Remy on the phone at Corsport. He's swearing up and down that Apexi doesn't make an 85mm filter, but that's what I measured on the filter...a dozen times. And the flange is too small. 75mm.
So I received TWO incorrect items in a box that has the CORRECT part number listed. Only that part number is supposed to contain an 80mm flange and an 80mm filter according to Apexi.
So now I might have to pay to have this crap sent back for them to "look at it" And I guess correct the problem.
And I had already sent him the pics and it's pretty damn obvious that the filter is NOT 80mm and the flange is NOT 80mm.
Right now they've contacted Apexi and are waiting to hear back from them regarding the pictures and measurements.

definitely an apexi problem not a corsport problem, i don't expect a company to open, measure and inspect every item they receive. Apexi sent them the same thing they sent you i bet and they assumed it was the same as what it was supposed to be and said on the box.

but i would be more pissed at apexi than corsport.
does the box show any signs of tampering?
like double tape or something like that
Superior quality brought to you by the ever-so over-rated iPhone. I'm still deciding on a digital camera that I want to get.

He was basically like..... "Well...ummm...i dunno man. They don't even make an 85mm filter. We've sold hundreds of these things and never had a problem with a single one. I dunno man...i guess just go ahead and send it back and we'll take a look at it."
Not even an apology or nothing. Almost sounded like he didn't give a damn. That's what kind of upset me.
He never even told me he had contacted Apexi until I called back the second time asking if I would have to pay for the shipping. That's when he told me to hold on to the product until they got a response back from Apexi.
So it's good that they took the initiative to go to the source and I guess I'll just have to wait and see how they respond to this situation.

The biggest thing that concerns me is that the BOX had the correct Part number, but none of the pieces inside are the correct size. What are the odds that BOTH pieces would be incorrect inside a box with the right part number??
And one more question............is Apexi a Japanese company? Cause the filter says "Made in Korea".

** Update **
Good news. Corsport contacted Apexi and Apexi confirmed to them that they boxed up the incorrect items in the box. So Corsport is overnighting a new filter and flange to me which should arrive Monday.
I sent the Sales Mgr. an e-mail back thanking him for taking the effort to contact Apexi and resolve the situation and for getting back to me quickly.

Oh it gets better. As a gesture of good faith for my inconvenience they are sending me a t-shirt and a battery tiedown free.
They really didn't have to. All I wanted was for everything to be solved and that would have been good enough, but they offered so I said why not.

Are the inside diameters of those 2 items even supposed to be the same? Those holes on that aluminum part, are they supposed to match up with the holes on the filter? From your pics it looks like the holes on the filter are about 95 to 100mm apart and the holes on the aluminum part look well outside the 75mm inside diameter....maybe about 95 or 100mm. I dunno

So even though the flange still bolts to the filter, the flange was too small to fit over my intake piping....so it's useless. And YES the inside diameters ARE supposed to be the same. The part number itself was supposed to have an 80mm filter opening with an 80mm flange.
