Default First Hard Mods here it is

ok i just bought all of my IHE mods. they will be here sometime this week.

K&N 63 series intake - - - $163.99
Greddy 4-2-1 stainless headers - - - $343.52
Magnaflow High flow cat - - - $141.82
Apex'i WS2 Cat Back - - - $381.75

Total = 1031.08
a little high but not to bad. i think the intake could have been cheaper

Im so excited to get it all and put it on there. only one question....any rough estimates on HP gains or Tq gains?
i will post pics when they get here and before and after pics.
any imput is welcome thanks

Any butt dyno wouldn't be able to graph the 5-10 hp gain anyway.

I hope it aint a D-series...

But lets try saving some money...

Upgrade that intake to a AEM unit... $220 for a brandnew... And you WILL see gains even in a single cam

The header is good...

The test pipe is a waste... If you wanna delete your cat... Just buy an ebay unit for like $20 shipped...

And a Ebay Exhaust for $200 shipped... Just make sure you get a true 2.5" exhaust and your good to go...

So lets see...$220+$381+$20+$200= $821

And you will prolly have more horses...

bwahaha, what a waste. You could have a homemadeturbo setup for that amount and made a lot more power.

Check the OP's "My Garage" page...it's a '97 EX, all stock.
I wouldn't call it a waste, but if I had 1K sitting around for upgrades, I'd start with the suspension and brakes first.

don't hate on the guy for trying. that's not cool at all. hopefully he'll be happy with what he bought and learn from it. maybe next time he'll go a different route, but for now...no sense in being a dick cause you think you know everything.

I'm being a dick because that's who I am. The OP sounds like a brand ***** who will pay a premium for crap that he could have paid a lot less for with the same effects. $350 for a D series header is just plain getting raped.

well thanks for the imput although most of it is not that great. and yes its d series all stock. but a couple things i am new to auto and wanna learn so i figured id start with this. and another thing, i needed either headers and intake manifold and catalytic converter either way. mine broke in the winter, and when the guy welded it, he cut of the flange that connected the to, and the weld keeps breaking. so since i had the money, needed new front part of the exhaust and wanted WS2, figured i would get it all. and my next investment after this will be a B series motor.so anything else people have to say? preferably constructive?

and also my car is a 97 civic ex, everything is stock. so D16Y8 and the stock tranny

I would have searched for a used stock exhaust manifold. 350 bucks down the *******. Can't be used for the B series and you won't get half that if you try to re-sell down the road.

As said before, I would have dumped that into suspension or just saved it since you are planning a b swap in the future.

Ya I feel for the guy but I completely agree back when I had a d series all I did was cut the stock air box off and fit a cheap cone air filter on It. I spent 30 bucks and debated If there was even a point in doing that.

To the op.... you just spent over a grand on 5hp.. Im not trying to be a *** but it is the truth.... If you can take that crap back and put that grand into a decent engine swap... you will be very pleased with that.

Ohh I didnt see that you needed a few of these parts anyway.... ya thats the best time to upgrade... so it's not a total loss bud.

$1k is at least half if not more of a B swap. You could have a full LS swap in your car running for around $2k. Used parts could get you there cheaper.
