Overheating problem
I swapped in a jdm h22a to my 93 si. car runs great for the most part but after running for a while the temp. goes way high.
I replaced the h2o pump along with timing and all that before i put the motor in and last night i put in a new thermostat and bled the system, still getting hot.
Theres a 30-40% chance the h2o pump is bad or instaleld wrong but im pretty confident in my work. Any ideas on what i could do before taking the h20 pump out again?

get it tuned. or sometime the oil pump going out will cause this. water pump pretty strait forward install im pretty sure you did that rignt. and take out the thermostat and try it again. make sure coolant is filled up alll the way and you have no leaks in the system
I was kinda thinking it may be oil. theres a sound coming from the motor when i accelerate that sounds like a bearing going bad. im not sure if its coming from one of the pulleys on the belt or within the motor itself. thats what happened to my h23, spun bearing. so oil pump would cause overheating also.
any way of checking to see if oil iss circulating?

Another possible issue - If the engine is running too lean, the head temp will be much higher than normal. This might be caused by a bad MAP, airflow, or O2 sensor. It can also be caused by setting timing too far forward (knocking or preignition will result). If the engine has been "souped up" it is possible that the compression is too high for the gas you are using and the same problem will occur. The only reason I say this is that you mentioned "noise" from the engine during acceleration.
also the sensor itself can be faulty... they have those laser temp sensor at auto parts stores that can help validate your sensor. When does it happen? in town, freeway, long drives? etc.

Didn't see an answer - but RacerX had a good idea - make sure the radiator fan is coming on. If the A/C is on, both fans will run when the engine is over 195 deg F or so.
If not, check fuses and relay in the underhood fuse box. There is also two relays (and a diode) just behind the driver side headlight. The Center relay is for the A/C fan, the front one is the A/C clutch relay.
