Last night as i was headed to town, i noticed my gas and temp gauge disappear. They remained gone for 5 to 10 seconds and reappeared. When they first reappeared, they reset themselves. Then, they would read the same as before this happened. This occurred about 5 or 6 times then the guages worked normally. Anyone have any ideas or similair experiences?

It starts out doing that and then it'll eventually give out and quit working, it happens pretty often, I've already replaced mine. You should probably start looking for one so that if/when it burns out you can replace it.

Sorry. I forgot to mention the model. Yes, it is a 4th gen. You said that "it" starts out doing this then it goes out. What exactly is "it"? I was thinking maybe a loose connection. However, i always get input from this site before i do anything. I have learned that doing so usually saves me some time and money.

 

Mine wouldn't come on right away when I would turn the car on and then one day they just cut out and white smoke came outta the dash and they burnt out. Read about it happening to others, seems to be something that happens eventually, the cars are old after all.

 

Still wondering what "it" is. Does anyone have any ideas? I realize this could be a loose connection, but I was wondering if there is any part i may need to purchase before attemtping to fix.
