I want to put a new motor in my car but i cant decide on which swap to do. I can go with either a B16a, B18a1, B18c5, B20, K24, or even just the single cam. And im probably gonna go with a gsr tranny. I have been debating on this for awhile. If i go B18 should I run vtech? I would like to make at least 300whp. Someone give me some advice!!!

 

You should go try the Kia message boards, I don't think you're ready for Honda. First of all, the engines you listed vary in price from about $500 to about $7-8000. You should probably do some research instead of just asking for "advice" on how much money you should spend.

I'm not sure why you want to use a gsr transmission, but if that's the only thing you know for sure, then you need to buy a b series engine. You can't use the gsr tranny unless it's used with a b-motor.

You want to make 300hp? Join the club. Might as well build your d15 for boost.

Not true...You can build an all motor K24 to hit well into the 300 whp

 

it all depends on your preference. and money too. kswaps are hella expensive. most b16 swaps are under 2gs complete. b18 swaps are like 3gs. and k is more than both combined. lol. do a G23 (H23 block, H22 Head, K20 internals) its rare.

 

g23 sounds sick! I've never heard of that. Is it a simple assembly? Or do you have to bore, line hone or what?

just go with ls1 chevy engine, and make your car rwd..

it will be the easiest way, and you can even keep a/c and p/s..

built turbo d16 can run 11's with a cheap vitara setup with eagle rods. chipped ecu and ebay turbo. of course other things needed but almost less then 3k and be faster then all u listed above.

 

ebay turbo? yea great idea if you want it to blow up within a 1000 miles.

 

i think a skyline engine would be the best way to go they make like 1000 hp

 

ull blow that turbo before u blow that motor built. you should check up on turbod16. i think the highest trap on the 57trim ebay turbo was somewhere near 130mph in the quarter.
