Default f22b1 h22a head "frankenstein"

Hey guys,

New to the site. I've got a 94 ex 5-spd and intend to swap a h22a in but a buddy of mine says that it is possible to mate a h22a to the f22b1 block to achieve h22a qualities but have a better setup for turbo due to the cast iron sleeves. Obviously, just the head off a h22a will cut motor costs down which may be reinvested into a turbo. I would appreciate any thoughts, opinions, or even a "don't even think about it." Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site... You're likely going to get flamed for asking without searching first, but check my signature. There's a link to the page you are referring to. Good luck with your build.

First. thanks a mil for the help. The link had some good info (maybe just enough info for me to just go h-swap). I expected "flamage" and will probably incur more but I'm comfortable with that I know certain parts, options, and potential capabilities but the true technical details(i.e. block mods, specs, etc.) I'm in the process of learning. God knows, I'm crazy apprehensive about tapping things and such. As per suggestion, I'll search more. I also want to know what this type of build will do for me as a n/a build straight up to see if there are even other options. I'll be looking for the answer to this on my own but if any of you can lead me in the right direction as far as numbers, good looking out.

Long story short: No one is trying to break land-speed records here. I've got a pristine 94 ex vtec 5 spd which is already fun to drive (Tokico blues+H&R springs, strut/sways bars, Greddy DT, 2.25 catback, K&N intake, NGK iridium + wires). Trying to build a highway/curve slider that is a daily driver with a little more getup and a wider power band. I don't need 300hp, just 245-50 that starts right up and runs forever. I'm aiming for a car that looks like it rolled off the assembly line (no kits, no nothing).

All you guys...forgive my ignorance, excuse the length of message, and any suggestions will be appreciated. Please brainstorm, experiment, and throw me ideas and I'll run with that.

Again, new to the site and providing some background. Good lookin' out fellas/gals(respect)!
