how low can a ep3 go?
nvm i found something https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-rsx-dc5-honda-civic-ep3-32/ep3-handling-2572372/
If you lower any car that has a McPherson strut design suspension to the point your lower control arms are angled up from the center of the car, you have just wrecked your cars handling. Anyone that tells you other wise has no idea what they are talking about. The race cars that you see that are slammed down on the ground have had 20+ grand of custom suspension work done to their cars to move the suspension mounting points. They do this so they can reach a minimum ride hight in the racing series rules to get every last bit of advantage under the rules.
Slammed Cars my look good to the little kids out there but people that know anything about cars will just see them for what they are. A racer-want-to-be.....There is another term for this but I can not remember what it is.....I think it starts with the letter "R"........

Back in the day, I used to be a shater( boards, not blades). We would go to the local ramp and let gravity and wood beat the h*ll out of us all day long. We would skate and sometimes these kids would show up with the latest board and clothes and stand around and watch. They would yell stupid sh*t like "do a mctwist" and act like they knew anything about what really skating was about. We, the guys with all the wood burns would call them "posers" because in our minds they were just that....poseing as skaters.....
What the h*ll does all that have to do with anything? Well next time you are driving around dragging you catback over every speed bump, ask yourself....am I car guy or am I just poseing as one. Do yourself a huge favor show up to a autoX or trackday. Decide if you really want to be a car guy or just look like one.
Compelling argument Mr. Guru (mustclime aka Suspension Guru), I agree with what you're saying, but I can also see it from the other point of view that not everyone wants a race car and that people do like to build their cars for looks. I think ride height is a subject that many people will need to agree to disagree on.
How do you define a "ricer"? Do we draw the line at wings, neon and stickers? Think about it.....

i get called a ricer everyday cause my car is from japan lol, if you want a low car, slam it, if you want to take it to the track on the weekends just drop it a bit. im still not sure how the ricer thing came up in this convo. so if you slam a ep then your a ricer?

The ep3 was made and imported from the UK....not japan. Infact, it was designed in europe, not japan. The floorpan, drivetrain and suspension was designed in japan. The DC5 was designed in japan and the coupe and sadan were designed in america.....
