Will this work, CTR pistons on ITR motor??
Am planning on using this motor for daily use and the builder saying that this setup with work on a daily driver with a good tune(Hondata S300).Wouldn't the compression be to high with CTR pistons on the street or freeway?? wouldn't PR3 pistons work better and he doesn't know if the head needs to be re-surface.Wouldn't thast raise the compression more??
Help will be really appreciated before the built gets any further.

yes CTR pistons will work in a itr motor, yes it will raise the compression higher, and the motor should run fine on freeway or streets depending on the tune. Pr3 pistons will work about the same, all those pistons are capable of making good power, i have tryed P30's,Pr3,ITR and ctr's before and they all make around the same power. to do it right the head should be resurface after it's been taken off, and yes it will bump the compression up by a bit, depending on how much was taken off the head.
if your motor isnt blowing smoke dont bother with doing internals if you just want a daily driver. do quality bolt-ons first and enjoy your ITR motor.
well the motor was taking apart cause it blew a piston ring or something to that affect but no damage to the block or head so the builder is just started to put it together and had a set of CTR pistons that comes with the purchase of the ITR motor swap. But he did say that the head has to get re-surface before installing back on the block.
ah ic. see how much of the head needs to be resurfaced because it can affect your compression ratio if they take off too much. with CTR pistons i believe your compression ratio will be around 11.8:1. do you have an engine management & tuner?
