Well I just came home from getting an 86 and 87 (Special Edition) Preludes. I have no idea what I am going to do with them. I posted a thread before thinking that they were 88 ludes but they are not.

I have a few questions that you guys might be able to help me with. I opened the sunroof of the 87 lude and I cannot close it now. Is there a way to hand close it? Also it came with a wing on the back. I touched it and it is sorta squishy. Like a soft urathane or something. Is that factory?

you need an allen wrench to close it. the motor is either in the front or rear of the sunroof. on the inside of the car on the roof you will see a hole, most likely it will have a plastic plug in it. pop out the plastic plug and use the allen wrench to open and close the sunroof. if it is in the front it will be probably next to the passenger side visor, near the center of the car. if it is in the rear you will probably find it above the middle of the rear seat in the roof. having bought an 86 and 87 the parts are totally interchangable with each other so you have a parts car and a drivable car. or keep the one that is in better shape and sell the other one.

 

Lots of factory spoilers are soft, that's normal.
And about the sunroof... what crlude said.
Have fun with these two Preludes you bought! What do you intend to do with them? Car project?

Well the 87 Special Edition I am going to part out because it is in rough shape body wise. The 86 is in better shape but it is unknown if it will run. I took the battery out and it is charging now. I am going to do my best to restore the 86 and sell it as a whole. I am most likely going to part out the 87 to anyone who needs parts. If anyone does IM me. Both cars are intact.
