I have a question concerning a valve adjustment for my 96 Accord v6 (240k) miles. There is significant tapping/clapping of a value on this engine but no discernable decrease in performance. From viewing some of the forums, I've come to believe that this occurs frequently and could be solved by a valve adjustment. However, my mechanic seems to think that the ticking will continue and that the valves have some internal fluid clog as well. Any comments on the valve job? I'm fine at letting someone else do the job, I'm just worried about throwing money away. p.s. I've used Seaform as a suggestion in the crankcase with little to no avail, and the oil changes are frequent and synthetic.
