HOW TO DETERMINE WHICH CAMS I HAVE
A friend is selling some skunk2 stage 3 cams for kseries but how do I determine if they are stage 3 and if they are even skunk2's because he doesnt have the box or part #.
Skunk2 K Series camshafts are easy to identify. First of all they will have a raised S2 cast into the core of the camshafts between the lobes. This will verify that they are authentic Skunk2 cams.
In order to verify what profile the cams are, you will need to look for hand engraved markings on the camshaft core between the lobes, often times directly under the cast S2. S1 indicates Stage 1, S2 indicates Stage2 and S3 indicates stage 3.
Lastly, if the camshafts are version 3 (most current) it will say V3 after the "S" engravings.
If you are ever in doubt as to the authenticity of a camshaft set, please contact Skunk2 customer service through our online helpdesk or by calling 951.808.9888. We will be happy to look at pictures and help to verify if the parts are authentic Skunk2.
