Default Motor Swap w/ AC on 93 hatch????

I'm new to the honda game. I just bought a 93eg hatchback from a 55 year old lady I work with. I never thought I would be driving a hatch but this lady practically gave it to me.

I decided to swap out the motor. My choices are ZC,B16,B18c. I need good gas milage and A/C..

What is the best, easiest, gas saving motor I can get and still retain my AC?

Thanks!!

Well, you're asking for 4 things, some of which are mutually exclusive.

The best is the B18C with a B16 transmission. It will also get the worst gas mileage (trust me, I got one)

The worst is the ZC, but it will get the best gas mileage.

The B16 is right in the middle of both.

You can retain AC with all of them, as far as I know... I'm positive you can on both of the B series, you just need an AC bracket from a 96-00 CRV. I would say that they're all probably about as difficult, although the ZC might be easier since it's D series, and you can keep your D-series transmission. The ZC would probably also be cheapest.

Personally, I would go with a B18C with B18C transmission. You should be able to get over 30mpg with it, as I'm averaging 28-30 on mine with a B16 transmission, and mine runs 4K rpms at 70mph.
