Default Adjusting ride height with Ground Control coilovers.

Is the only way to adjust the ride height on Ground Control coil-overs to adjust the pre-load on the springs?

Would it be worth the extra cost to get the fully threaded type coil-overs where ride height and preload can be adjusted independently?

I live in an area with bad roads, so I would run my car moderately high. I was thinking that with ground controls that would require a fair amount of preload.

If I go with the full coil-overs I might not have to run as much preload, and the ride wouldn't be quite as harsh.

the GC coil over sleeves only have one hight adjustment. no preload. if you preload the springs then you cant adjust the height..

go for a set of full coilovers.

Say what? Of course he can adjust the height if the springs are preloaded, he'll just need a spanner wrench to do so.

OP have you tried setting the perch so that it's just touching the spring at full suspension droop and seeing where your ride height is? If so, do you really need to go higher?

Trust me, any of those coilovers with separate height and preload adjustments in the same price range as Koni/GC will be a DOWNGRADE! Not to mention those dampers are often quite shorter than stock, so you wouldn't be able to go very high anyway. You'll probably have to drop somewhere in the range of $1500 to get a quality setup with separate height and preload adjustment.

I didn't consider that the full coilovers are usually shorter than stock. That would probably limit how high I could run them. I don't have the Ground Controls yet. Right now I have lowering springs that drop the car about 1.5 inches. I want to be able to run a higher rate spring without having to go too much lower.

I was thinking about either the Skunk2 Pro C or the adjustable Pic performance coilovers. I saw them both for around 1200 dollars. I also saw some cheaper ones like K-Sport and Form and Function coilovers for about 800 dollars. How would you say the Ground Controls would compare?
